On September 11, CNEEC received the letter of award for the 100 MW Kimanis gas peaking power plant project in Sabah, Malaysia. This marks another achievement from the company’s in-depth cultivation of the Malaysian market. It demonstrates the company’s differentiated competitive edge in the niche gas power generation sector, reflects continuous improvements in local construction and professional operation capabilities, and represents a key practice of the company in implementing the Group’s strategy of “Industrialization + Internationalization”.
???The project involves the construction of a 100 MW internal combustion power plant adopting dual-fuel gas engine technology. Natural gas will serve as the primary fuel, and distillate fuel oil as the backup fuel. Electricity generated by the plant will be fed directly into the power utility’s substation through a newly built 132 kV switchyard and underground cables, before connecting to the Sabah power grid. Acting as the general contractor, CNEEC will deliver full-scope EPC services for the project from design to handover. Upon completion, the plant’s generating units will feature rapid load-ramping capacity to quickly boost power output during peak demand periods. The facility will effectively improve the stability of power supply in Sabah and play an important role in advancing the optimization of the local energy mix and supporting green and low-carbon development.
